This past weekend I was in my happy place surrounded by competitive volleyball. These girls have put in the hours on the court training to win their way to the girls junior national championship tournament over the last 5 months.
When I was their age I did the same thing; trained my way to the same tournament to see who was the best team in the nation at girls volleyball.
All my life I have trained for everything I have done. I don’t know any different. Over the last 2 years, I have trained my doula clients for births. Their outcomes were all natural vaginal births, reduced labor hours, their endurance/stamina during labor was very apparent and their birth zone was maintained.
Being a home birth and birth center doula only, the midwives started asking me “what are you doing with your clients?” They are noticing these first time moms are super prepared for their all natural birthing experience. I simply replied “I train them for birth.”
I am a firm believer the more you practice something the better you will be at it. Physical repetition practice can also bring about a confident mindset. The more my clients practiced their stretching, positions, movements during pregnancy, the easier time they had during their birth. They were more willing to change positions when it was needed and their mental focus was incredible!
This sparked an idea!! I can coach other expecting mommas through my training for birth who desire an all natural birth experience. Monthly classes will be taught at the Fort Worth Birth Center. You will need to be 34+ weeks gestation to attend. This Train for Birth workshop is specifically for expecting mommas desiring an all natural birthing experience. Be prepared to TRAIN!!
